The Quarry scoops silver at annual WhatHouse? Awards

Anderson and its joint venture partners L&Q have been awarded Silver in the Best Starter Home Scheme for The Quarry at the 2019 WhatHouse? Awards held in London last week.

The awards evening, hosted by Comedian Dara O’Briain, celebrates the “best new homes in Britain”. The Best Starter Home Scheme award, for which Anderson and L&Q received Silver, focusses on the initial rung of the property ladder and how developments promote the all-important step to home ownership.

With house prices in central London unachievable for the vast majority of people starting on the home ownership ladder, regenerating the outer boroughs has been a key to balancing accessibility and affordability. The Quarry is transforming a 20-hectare industrial site abandoned for some 30 years to provide around 600 new homes in a variety of tenures.

Darren Carter, Group Support Services Director at Anderson, said: “The Quarry scheme at Erith continues to win awards and be the best in class for development on the outskirts of London.”

“Having picked up accolades at the First Time Buyer’s Award most recently for the site, I think it’s clear to see that we are working hard to build homes for all individuals and families across the region.”
