Anderson wins brace of industry awards

Chelmsford-based property developer the Anderson Group has won two industry-recognised awards for its developments in Hackney Wick and Erith, whilst being shortlisted for Best Medium UK Housebuilder at the ‘industry’s Oscars’.
At the London Construction Awards, held at the Royal Garden Hotel in Knightsbridge, the company swooped in to take Regeneration Project of the Year for its development of 600 homes and a primary school in Erith. The project, which is a joint venture development with L&Q, is transforming a former landfill site in the heart of the London Borough of Bexley.
Just a little over a week later at the Housebuilder Awards, which has been dubbed the ‘industry’s Oscars’, the developer received the award for Best Marketing Initiative for its project of 44 high-specification apartments at Carpenters Wharf, Hackney Wick in London, in association with Jack Renwick Studios. On top of this success, Anderson were highly commended in Best Design for Four Storeys or More on the same site.
Entrants into the awards were then placed into a pool of housebuilders, from which the awards for best small, medium and large UK housebuilders were chosen by a panel of expert judges. Two Essex developers, both the Anderson Group and Hill, were recognised, with Hill taking Best Large UK Housebuilder and the Anderson Group shortlisted in the top three for Best Medium UK Housebuilder.
Plus the Carpenters Wharf development received a further accolade when it was given the Bronze award for Best Exterior at the WhatHouse? awards.
Andrew Jay, Anderson Group Managing Director, said: “These awards are a huge achievement for us all. It recognises our ambitions as a business to be the best that we can collectively be and acknowledges the hard work that is put in by everyone.
“As we move forward to deliver in excess of 200 homes next year, we will look to instil the same ethos in our work that has been there since 1987: enabling meaningful change in the community.”
